Skew-T

A Skew-T log-p diagram shows the model temperature and moisture profile at a single point for one forecast hour—useful for reading stability, inversions, and wind shear at a glance. Tap Skew-T on the toolbar, then click the map, or open from a takeoff / landing marker. The bottom panel can be resized (drag the top edge; double-click to reset height).

Skew-T uses the same Model dropdown and Hist. Data controls as the windgram (independent of the toolbar map model used for Wind Map and other overlays). Models and horizons are listed under Weather models.

Slide the time bar at the bottom of the panel to change the forecast hour. The header shows the place name and elevation (m ASL).

What is drawn

• Temperature (red) — environmental air temperature at each model level.
• Dew point (green) — derived from relative humidity at each level (Magnus-type approximation).
• Isotherms & isobars — skewed temperature lines and horizontal pressure guides on the log-pressure axis.
• Dry adiabats (dashed yellow) — reference lines of constant potential temperature.
• Wind arrows (right edge) — speed and direction at selected levels; arrow colours match the windgram scale.
• Height & pressure axes (left) — metres with a companion feet label at major ticks, and pressure in hPa.
• Takeoff line — when opened from a site, an orange dashed line marks launch elevation; the profile below is dimmed (same idea as the windgram takeoff marker).

The Skew-T is a single-column snapshot for one hour. For a multi-day time-height view with thermal and cloud strips, use the windgram instead.
